Hi! I’m Jessica Robertson. You probably know me from Duck Dynasty, and from my new show Jep & Jessica: Growing the Dynasty. My husband Jep and I are busy raising 5 kids, including our newly adopted son Gus. Life is busy for me now, but I’m pursuing one of my dreams, and that is— creating jewelry!

I’ve always had a passion for style, so I’m jumping right in with my new line called Calvary. I love all things creative- cooking, fashion, home décor, family projects. I explore a lot of these on my blog Robertson Roots. So, jewelry is a natural progression for me.

My Calvary jewelry line is sterling silver with semi-precious stones. Some of the stones you’ll see include amazonite, freshwater pearl and abalone shell. I love the way you can mix and layer any of the pieces together-you can collect these pieces and know that each piece you choose will look great with any of the others!

My Calvary line is manufactured by Barse Jewelry, a line also found at Dillard’s that is known for its outstanding quality and design. The Calvary line is being manufactured with the same attention to detail and craftsmanship as the Barse line. Every piece is hand finished and inspected for quality and also contains an anti-tarnish and brightening agent, so this jewelry can be worn for years to come!

One of my favorite things in the Calvary line is my J Scroll pattern. This signature pattern is a double “J” intertwined that represents my name, and my husband Jep’s. To me, it represents family, and the close union that a husband and wife share.

Each piece of Calvary jewelry is presented in a jewelry pouch that you will be able to use time and again to store and protect jewelry. On the pouch, you’ll see my tagline…Faith… Family… Fashion.

Obviously, fashion is one of my favorite topics- I’ve created this line to be fashion forward, and to also be something that always makes you feel beautiful from the inside out!

Family is a bond that keeps life special. The unconditional love shared in a family is like no other. My “J” Scroll is a reminder to support each other and connect with family at all times. Remember that life is short, so let’s encourage and lift each other up!

And my faith is the cornerstone of my life. My Savior Jesus Christ gives me peace beyond all things, and I’ve brought that peace to my Calvary line. With each pouch, you’ll find an insert that contains a little bit of information about the line, along with a Bible Verse. I chose these verses as some of my favorites that keep my faith strong, and I hope they lift up all those who read them. These make a special impression when giving Calvary jewelry as a gift.

You’ll also find a special assortment of crosses in the Calvary line that are an outward representation of the Christian faith.

Whichever piece you choose, my hope is that it lifts you up and brings peace!

Melanie Barse

Melanie Barse began her adventures in jewelry in her native Ft. Worth, Texas, with a small gift store run with her mother, Nancy Barse Moore. Melanie’s natural ability to speak languages lead her travels to Mexico, where she was one of the first people to begin importing sterling into the US from Taxco, Mexico. Her natural sense of fashion allowed her to select the trendiest designs. As a twenty-something, Melanie would scout the best pieces and bring them back to sell at the store.

But Melanie didn’t stop there. Her attitude has always been a fun and vibrant “Why not?”!  She knew she could sell her expertly culled pieces to others, so she partnered with her husband Michael Gobril to form Barse Jewelry. The name Barse is an artistic legacy. Melanie’s great uncle, George Randolph Barse, is a renowned American artist with art in museums and institutions throughout the nation, including the Library of Congress.

Melanie’s intrepid style and eye for jewelry lead them to begin importing world-round, and the business grew to be a successful global import company.  Soon her energetic travels lead to Asia, where she discovered the rich culture and opportunities in beautiful Thailand. She quickly adapted to the Thai language and saw the opportunity to create a factory where she could begin using her acute fashion sense to design and produce her own trend-driven pieces.

Her Thailand factory now employs more than 250 people; most are skilled artisans, expert lapidaries and master mould carvers who have been with her for years. Melanie often works with miners to cull opaque stones that are cut specifically for Barse designs. By instructing them exactly how to shape a stone in a unique way, Melanie’s jewelry is distinguished from designers who use pre-cut stones.

Melanie’s factory also utilizes the age-old practice of lost-wax casting. This method allows for the rich details and flawless finishes that you will find in Barse Jewelry. It is rare in today’s jewelry market to find a designer that does not use ‘stamped out’ methods of production, and the quality shows in Barse Jewelry.

The designs that Melanie’s factory produce come from the team she leads in Dallas through a very hands-on approach. Her product development and design teams are on the forefront of fashion and trends for each season.  Trend meetings, runway shows, and frequent visits to fashion meccas like New York and Paris are all on Melanie’s plate.

The Barse Brand

Barse Jewelry is designer sterling silver and bronze with a focus on opaque stones, especially through custom cuts and placements. Barse customers love the detail that goes into our jewelry. Every piece designed will bear an unusual detail that reveals the special touch that Barse fans love.

The Barse brand can be found in retail settings from major department stores and electronic retailers to our own barse.com and retail flagship store in Fort Worth TX.  Barse Jewelry is designed locally in Dallas, where Melanie leads a team of talented designers who help bring her inspirations to life.

Barse/Dillard’s

Barse has been a partner with Dillard’s for more than 25 years! It’s really unusual for a vendor and department store to have a relationship for that long. We attribute this long standing relationship to each of us being a southern based company with similar values- great service, stunning selection and value.

Barse/Calvary

From Melanie’s first meeting with Jessica Robertson in her home in Monroe, she knew it was a natural fit.  Jessica presented her J scroll designs during that first meeting, which made it clear that Barse would be the perfect manufacturer for her new line.  The two have worked hard to choose silhouettes and stones that will appeal to Dillard’s customers.  Barse has manufactured and designed jewelry for 25 years, and knows the industry. Calvary is a successful startup brand wanting to design jewelry, so the partnership is a natural!
